Hot Buttered Rum

- 1 pound butter
- 1 (16 ounce) package brown sugar
- 1 (16 ounce package powdered sugar)
- cinnamon to taste
- nutmeg to taste
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream ( good quality), softened slightly
- Rum
- boiling water
- 1 pint heavy cream, whipped with 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cream butter, brown sugar, powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg until fluffy.
- Fold in ice cream.
- Freeze until ready to use, up to 6 months.
- Place 3 tablespoons of mixture in a mug with 1 jigger of Rum.
- Fill with boiling water.
- Top with whipped cream.
- Yield: 24 servings
